Harry Chapman
Digital health implementation and delivery
Profile
I take clinical software into NHS services and stay until it is actually being used. That means the governance, the integration, the training and the reporting, and it means being the person a clinical team can ring when something does not work on a Tuesday morning.
I came at it from the other direction. I spent four and a half years as a healthcare assistant on an acute stroke unit while studying medicine, then worked in NHS clinical research, and only then moved to the vendor side. Having been on a ward when new software turned up is the most useful thing I bring to a rollout.
What I want to be doing
The product I work on is predictive, so I already spend my time on the practical end of this: what a model should surface, when a person should be in the loop, and how a clinician is meant to trust the output. Outside work I build things with language models because that is the fastest way to understand where they are genuinely good and where they quietly are not.
Most digital health tools fail on the ground rather than in the design. I have been on both sides of that: on the ward when new software arrived, and on the vendor side asking a team to change how it works. That is the gap I am most useful in.
Not visual polish so much as removing steps. The referral integration I designed exists because a clinician had to fill in a form nobody had time for. Most of the improvement in an adoption curve comes from work like that.
Governance frameworks, mobilisation plans, training, escalation routes and the reporting that tells you whether any of it worked. This is the part I am formally qualified in and the part I enjoy most.
Experience
Customer Success and Delivery Manager, Remote / Manchester · previously Service Delivery and Engagement Manager, November 2024 to February 2026
I joined as the third employee of an early-stage health technology company and helped take its predictive digital therapeutic from no live sites to five NHS trusts. The work runs from first conversation with a trust through to the point where a clinical team is using the product without me.
- Led end-to-end deployment and clinical adoption across Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Livewell Southwest.
- Pioneered the tripartite Digital Navigator delivery model with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, so trained non-clinical facilitators handle routine engagement and early warning sign monitoring rather than clinicians.
- Wrote the six-gate go-live readiness framework, the eight-week mobilisation plan and the standard operating procedures covering clinical escalation and safety netting.
- Designed the RiO electronic patient record integration that turned referral into a single click for clinicians.
- Built the CareLoop analytics workspace in Power BI from nothing, writing the DAX behind clinician logins, onboarding cohorts and the distribution of early warning alerts.
- Designed the clinical training playbooks, flight cards and patient-facing material, and took the programme through CPD accreditation.
- Ran the product against NICE Early Value Assessment guidance, NHS DTAC, DCB0129 clinical risk management and ISO 13485.
- Ran regression testing across iOS, Android and the clinician web portal before each release, triaging in Jira.
- Took the product to NatCon 2026 in Denver and delivered clinical training at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Research Assistant, Treatment Resistant Depression Clinic, Southampton
At the Mood Disorder Clinic I worked on service redesign and research within the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration. The clinic was hard to reach, so most of what I did was about access.
- Designed and launched a secure digital self-referral route. Referrals rose by 300% and appointment allocation came down to under seven days.
- Built the digital screening and outcome questionnaires, standardising how data was captured across collaborating centres.
- Rewrote the patient communications and set up routine KPI reporting.
- Worked to Good Clinical Practice and GDPR across every patient dataset.
Healthcare Assistant, Southampton
While studying medicine I worked as a healthcare assistant on an acute stroke unit and across general wards. The stroke ward became a Covid support unit twice, which meant working with changing teams and protocols. It is where I learned what a clinical shift actually looks like, which is the part most people building software for the NHS have never seen.
- Frontline patient care and rehabilitation support on an acute stroke unit.
- Supported ward operations and clinical trials through the Covid response, including a staff saliva testing programme.

Things I have built
Small tools, mostly for problems I ran into myself. Several started at work and several did not.
During NHS rollouts, clinicians often supported the product but could not run every onboarding step. I helped develop a digital-navigator and managed-service model to provide that practical support.
At the Mood Disorder Clinic I built a secure self-referral pathway, website and clearer patient communications. Referrals increased by 300%, and appointment allocation fell to under seven days.
I built Bill Orbit for splitting restaurant bills with friends. One person scans the receipt, everyone assigns items to animated plates, and edits update on each person's screen. It does not require an account.
My sister cannot rely on a visual memory of a route, which makes Dark Souls III's similar corridors and folding shortcuts an extra barrier. I built a read-only minimap with breadcrumbs, bonfires, optional item markers and elevation-aware floors.
